Born and raised in Homewood, Alabama, I grew up in a family with two loving parents, one headstrong older brother and a lot of pets. As a little girl I was extremely shy and observant, however I was definitely a tomboy. To know me now, you would never believe I was afraid of strangers, which is probably part of the reason I ended up in PR.
Throughout high school, I spent a lot of time on the road competitively showing horses. I was able to travel all over the country and meet so many amazing people. I was fortunate enough to do a lot of my schooling from home, which allowed me to be on the road so often. I was able to show at the Appaloosa Youth World show multiple times on many amazing horses.
That passion led me to Auburn. I always knew I would attend Auburn, I mean growing up in Alabama you have to choose one or the other. I came to Auburn pursuing an Animal Sciences degree, focusing on Equine Sciences. I also ended up at Auburn to be a member of the nationally ranked D1 equestrian team.
However, during my beginning days at Auburn I quickly realized Chemistry was not my friend and transferred Colleges. Today, I can’t imagine being in any field other than Public Relations. I also realized my passions could be for more than one thing, and that there is more to life than riding horses. These two monumental changes I encountered while at college have made an impact on me today and will continue to every day for the rest of my life. Both are decisions I would never look back on and regret either.
